Do you feel that nutrients and organic material oxidize during corn residue decomposition when laying on top of the ground? How much of anything is going in the air?
Are nutrients and organic material lost when corn residue is mixed in the soil profile with full width tillage because of the lack of oxidation? Where are the nutrients going?
I’m in the process of eliminating the chisel plow and field cultivator but still use strip till and vertical tillage with some no till soybeans.
