Palestine, IL 62451 | I am going to throw this out and see what happens. I try to no-till everything. The one big drawback at times is the soil does not dry out as quickly on my rental ground without tile. I know if I worked it, it would dry out quicker and in turn I would plant sooner. I am probably the only one, but I like to run when the sun is shining. So my patience is thin at times. I believe some have moved to tillage to be able to plant sooner. Plus the fact that many fields might have 3-8 different soil types, most dry at different rates. So was no tilling not working because the neighbor was running and they weren't or was it given a good 5-7 year test and even though may have possibly yielded less, made them more money? I don't know the answers, hell, I don't know half of the questions. |
