Subject: Checking fertilizer spreader patterns

Central Ohio
This past year we got our own fertilizer spreader, with every different mix that i used i did a fertilizer spread test. The reason for that was spreading our own was new to us and i wanted to make sure i was doing it correctly and not driving to wide. New leader has a kit and a great explanation on how to go about the process, and i copied it a little bit and just made my own with some cheap foil pans from the dollar store and plastic shot glasses to see what my pattern looked like. It worked OK but if the wind blew i had to put a rock in them, (and i mean just a breeze would send them to the ditch). I am just curious what others do to make sure you are accurate. Thanks in advanced.
