Subject: Shoutout to Lundell Plastics (pics data warning)

All to often we hear horror stories about how things went wrong and how sales folks are non responsive to emails or phone calls or simply do not follow through on things.

I wanted to commend Ryan and Matt at Lundell Plastics for answering all my questions.

It was suggested that I call Ryan to discuss exactly what sort of remote that I might need for what I am setting up.

I called and talked to him and ordered the 2 function latched remote with 2 key fobs.

I had some additional questions on total acceptable amperage for the wireless unit and Matt walked me through it via email on the total amount of current the device could handle and also gave me a heads up that he has in the past saw an issue where an Enviropac motor could stall or lockup and send a spike that would overload the remote control.

I emailed him a rough drawing of what I wanted to do and he marked out wiring up the Bosch style relays for the motor.

I ordered relays and a automotive box enclosure from Amazon and decided to wire both functions up to allow the relays to switch the loads to lessen any chance of damaging the remote control unit.

Thanks to everyone that offered ideas and suggestions. I could have went with a cheaper wireless unit but everything so far has been made first rate so figured I would go first class all the way plus I wanted something that would be dependable and reliable.

This has been a good project to learn about using relays and might open up other opportunities to utilize them going forward.

Here is a video clip of them switching the valve and Enviropac via remote control. It's pretty big (130Mb) so heads up if you are on a slow connection or data plan.

Once again thanks to Ryan and Matt and the folks at Lundell Plastics for helping me get this set up just like I wanted it.

Here is the Lundell remote control unit.

2 key fob remotes

Here is the Fasse Solenoid valve

Here is the relay and fuse box from Amazon. Nice unit with rubberized seals for all the wires going in the back of the relays and fuse connections plus all the crimp on terminals that lock into the box. Nice gasket on the lid as well.

Here are the 2 relays being held gently by vice grips to make sure no terminals short across each other. A lot of jumper wires to make all the connections but pretty straight forward once you understand how they work.

Overall view

Thought some might find this interesting on adding the remote controls.

This was set up on the shop bench and I walked outside over 110 ft away and could still hear both operating just fine with the remote controls.
