Southeastern Tipton County, Indiana | sdan27 - 2/20/2019 11:41 Our 280 Magnum has been giving us an engine fault for awhile that we could usually just reset and go again. I finally checked it and it's a 3106. I looked online and the resources I found indicate is a fuel rail pressure relief valve that won't open. Is this just a valve or sensor I need to replace or is there more to it than that. The code comes up just turning the key on without even starting the engine. Thanks. The actual code definition is "Fuel pressure relief valve reached maximum allowed opening count" which means the Pressure relief Valve has opened 50 times. You need to check for these codes... 3137, 3141, 3293, 3301, 3309 or 3910 which would need resolved if present.
Once repaired the counter will need to be reset with the EST. Possible causes... Faulty PRV, check tightness and opening pressure. Faulty fuel metering unit Y-9000, wiring. Faulty fuel metering unit Y-9000, internal failure.
