Eastern Washington | I'm in eastern Washington, central columbia basin. Wheat harvest will start here about the 2nd week in July, and will move north and east of here into mid August in the Palouse. don't know what direction you might be coming from, but from Spokane a good trip through the palouse would go south through Pullman, to Lewiston, Clarkston, Pomeroy, Dayton, Walla Walla, then down the Columbia gorge towards Portland. Pullman to Walla Walla is right in the heart of wheat country with hills that will scare you just to think about driveing a combine on and should be busy with harvest by the first part of August. Walla Walla is great wine country. If you wanted to see the columbia basin project, go north after you get to the columbia river gorge at Walulla, to the Tricities, and north towards Moses Lake. | |
