Subject: RE: Needed: Education on John Deere Field Cultivators

Elmira, Ontario
  1. mid 90's (1994?)
  2. shank change was around 2000
  3. 985 was a five section cultivator with lift wheels on each section
  4. can't remember all the differences, but different type frame construction, computer controlled depth control allowing you to adjust each wheel pod independently from the cab, good for erasing tracks (single point is also available), available higher trip pressure shanks were a few
  5. 2210 is available in two styles, 3 or 5 section floating hitch and 3 section level lift (replaces the 980).  Floating hitch controls the front of the cultivator right at the front shanks. It was also available on the 985 as an option
  6. I'll leave that to owners
  7. I'll leave that to owners
  8. 2200 was available for a couple years, starting around 2002(?). I think it was only a floating hitch unit. The level lift 980 was still available those years
