Alton, Ia | Mine is a carrier I believe, and we never have the coils completely frosted, and never, after a defrost, still have frost or ice on the coil.
(I will switch mine to aux heat when it's below 0, the way the aux heat is set up the house has to get cold before they come on, and when I come in I want to be warm. I'll find another way to save $100 sometime this year.) Looking back, I should have gone with a water heat pump, or at least an LP aux heat system, but IIRC, you can't do the NW REC switch makes sense program unless the house is all electric but I could be wrong. | |
