Been looking for an mfwd for awhile, mainly case or JD but came across an 8450 Massey on a sale in a couple weeks. Don’t know a lot about them, we have a Massey dealer nearby and a lot of the neighbors have their small yard tractors and are happy with them. But nobody really has their bigger equipment. Anyone running any of these? Pros, cons?

Tractor is same as a challenger b series, agco A series, Should have CVT, which is arguably the best tranny in a tractor and a sisu engine which is also top tier. Many will tell you these were plagued with electrical gremlins, but by now most of that should have been updated, and I would bet it won't be any more problematic than any other electrically run equipment of today's ag market.

Nice cab, quiet and controls are laid out well, could have cab suspension (make sure the compressor works as it isn't cheap to replace), might also have front suspension. If you have a dealer who knows them i wouldn't hesitate, but like any modern piece of ag equipment that requires a computer for diagnosing If no one local has the expertise I would advise against.

In this case tho you do have any ag cat dealer, a agco dealer, or a massey dealer who should be able to work on this machine.. Most likely this will be a lot of tractor for the money at the sale
