Subject: RE: Engineered hardwood flooring

Pedee, Oregon
We put some in this old house "just to get by" 15 years ago. Costco brand, paid about the same for it as your firesale stuff. It's starting to show wear and some edges are swelling but overall it has held up quite well. Places away from foot traffic still look very good. We swiffer mop it all the time and that doesn't seem to bother it. Our new house is getting engineered plywood backed flooring, but I would not be afraid of putting the particle board type in a spare bedroom, walk in closet or other lower traffic area.
