I have a tree with a big hive in it and it is about 50 yards from a red clover hay field I have. The clover has done well this year and I think they have enjoyed it and I have seen a benefit also I am sure. I did have another hive over by a field in another area but I think they are gone. When they are working it sounds like a motor running when you walk by. I have wondered how many bees could be in there.

Bet if you pounded the tree with a hammer you could start counting them coming out.LOL
