NEND | Plenty of input from other people. I have a 7 x 36 I bought used at an auction at least 25 years ago. Other than a new chain once in a while and a new section of flighting on the intake, I’ve had no trouble with it. It has a 16 HP Briggs gas engine on it and is well balanced, moves quite easily. I just bought a couple newer ones, an 8 x 36 with a Honda gas engine, and a 10 x 36 with a 10 HP electric motor. They are both balanced very well, not hard at all to lift. The 10” is a little bit of a chore to push by myself, but not too bad. Both augers have the motors mounted in about the same place, in the center of the frame near the axle so they’re pretty well balanced. Either one can be easily change between gas or electric. I’m not sure how expensive or feasible changing one to PTO would be.
