Seems like whenever I get the latest issue of my gun magazine, there's always a new gun or cartridge being introduced. I can see the guns to some degree but how many of these new cartridges end up being a flash in the pan. I walk into the local stores that sell ammo and what is always available? The 30-06, 308, 243, 30/30, 270, and 223. All of them old cartridges. I know, like farm equipment you have keep coming up with something new to keep up the sales. But it always amuses me that the old dependables keep hanging on.
iowa is a lot different than Kansas, along with several other Midwest states, therefor none of those are allowed, and glad for it. Thus this discussion. It’s a big deal to some of us to finally have some much better choices, even if greatly hampered on effective range, still a vast improvement over the slug.
