I would have never guessed that might be feasible, but that's good to know. Are they all that simple to swap? We've got a 4455 that I've often said would still be a useful machine if it was MFWD. It's probably a bigger project for too small of a gain for me to ever undertake, but for curiosity's sake it would be nice to know.


I'm not sure how the MFWD is driven on a Sound Guard tractor. I don't see why it would be a different transmission case but I've never spent enough time around one to know. I would think it would be some sort of an add-on housing like the newer tractors. But the axle should bolt up with a bolster change just like the newer tractors.
