Subject: RE: Deere choking dealers out

upstate ny
Huge mistake on Deere's part. They have forced several dealers out around here in the last 5 years. We used to have a dealer right in our town, about 1/3 of a mile from our farm. They were one of the oldest John Deere dealers in the northeast. My family did business with them from the time they made the switch from horses in 1943(last farm in our town to do so), until Deere took the dealership in the late '80's. Then the nearest dealer was an hour away, and had two locations. Now that same dealer has 9 locations, and the service is so terrible that we have switched to another dealer which is still family owned and run(for now), even though they are 20 minutes farther away, in the other direction.
