Hillsdale Co. Michigan
Take US 23 up along Lake Huron instead of 75... Aside from Grayling and Gaylord there isn't much to really see North of Flint & Saginaw until you hit Mackinac City... The ride up along the lake may take a bit longer but it is enjoyable. Audies in Mackinac City is nice for breakfast... Downtown has a bunch of shops. If they have the time take the ferry to Mackinac Island and spend the day... Fort Michilimackinac in Mackinac City is also worthwhile... Fudge.... Mmmmmmm

North of the bridge take 134 over to Cedarville / Hessel... The Les Cheneaux Islands are nice... Especially if you have a boat. Further East is Detour Village and Drummond Island as well as the mouth of the St. Marys River. You can head North out of Cedarville and go right to the Sault. In The Sault there are a few attractions. The locks of course and the Valley Camp (Lake freighter turned museum). If they have time they can head West a bit and see Tahquamenon Falls and also head to White Fish Point to the lighthouse and maritime museum. Plenty of sight seeing to do... Take a camera for sure and lots of film or extra memory cards. Some pretty good vantage points to photograph the Mighty Mac from both sides of the straits...
