I take it from your post that you and your children are ok. That is the important thing. But sooner or later this will happen on the highway and the people, including children riding in the van or coming the other way will NOT be ok....

We have since paid over $1,000 to Ford to replace the rear axle with a new one so that I can sell the thing with a clear conscience. I guess this is what Ford wants to happen....

This vehicle will be replaced by another yet to be determined except what is determined is that it will NOT be a Ford.

All I have asked them to do is to issue a service bulletin to dealers to check this on vans coming in for service. Ford refuses to do that.

This is not like a head gasket problem, this is a major safety issue. How many more need to fail as these vans age before they will admit that it is even something to check???
