| Only when cold?
There is no inline filter, only the sock at the bottom of the pickup ad David said.
Clean the tank out entirely, either dump it or suck it. Then check what you Pulled out for water. The ethanol fuel in our area is hell for letting moisture collect in the bottom of the tanks in our Rangers, and they act like that.
A water magnet fixed ours, cheap and easy. Watermagnet.com
Mine (a 2102) does it now when it's cold, but I'm pretty sure I need injectors, otherwise it runs well once warm, and I have a remain in mine now.
Pull the valve cover and check the play on top of the valves. 2010's (not sure how much after) were hell for eating cams, then would grenade the rest of the engine. Easy check for a peice of mind. That was part of why my FIL's was hard to start (a 2010). Eventually it just wouldn't start at all, no compression. Expensive to rebuild or get a reman for. | |
