You know, I tried that Dixie cup thing as a kid, but it never worked. Well, we only cut the string about 25' or so; so the other person was still within earshot anyway, lol.
We never got to try the cup and string deal... closest we got was pressing our ear against the bathroom door so we could hear the others screams more clearly as they were getting a spanking after getting caught fighting for the 10th time... then you had to run away when the crying was done cause you was next. The whole ear against the door was an amazing listening device.
