Cowboycorn - 5/25/2009 09:54 I have some fields where if the neighbor comes in first, will hold back as far as 6 feet offline, to assure he isn't over on me or the other neighbor. I fill it in with whatever I am doing just to keep weeds down. This is fine as long as you have checked with them and got the "ok" to plant on their property. Otherwise you may be the guy your neighbor complains about on this forum someday. There are a LOT of fences left in this area. In fact, I'd say 90% or better of all property lines are still fenced. We have one field where there is no fence. Both we and the neighbor respect the line. We have about 30" of unplanted space between his crop and ours. No weeds. :) I agree with other suggestions above - a few posts along the property line will force most guys to respect the line. I have see a case where one guy would weave between the posts just to get an extra row or two in though. |
