| In my mind the problem really is that there is no room for compromise anymore.
When 1/2 of the country wants a wall, fence or barrier, why not substantially respect those views? Do a comprehensive immigration reform package that includes more or less a general amnesty for those already here. Does not have to be all one-sided. Not the wall or amnesty for absolutely everyone. Be smart and create about it.
You cannot tell me that barriers do not substantially work to stem illegal population flows. Reference the Iron Curtain, the DMZ in Korea, and Israel. They were/are substantially effective and would not be without the barriers. Nor can you tell me that we do not need most of the illegals that are already here. We need the workforce.
What is wrong with making a deal that works for all sides?
