Northeast ND
Do you need to pair the rows? I seeded bio-strip with my 1890 for the second time this fall. 42.5' on 7.5" spacing.

First off, I plugged the end row on both ends of both ranks (4 plugs total) to make it 40'. I made plugs out of wooden dowel that fit snugly into the secondary towers (new style towers with twist off lids). I believe it was 7/8" dowel?

I put rye down the front rank on 15" spacing.

I put radish and some dry fert down the rear rank on 30" spacing, using the two plugs on the ends plus 16 more, leaving 16 rows on 30" to match our planter.

So we have 16r30 radish + fert, with rye between the rows. I realize the rye rows are only 7.5" from the radish rows, with 15" gaps in the row middles, but it was a pretty simple way to try it. This was in wheat stubble, going to be edible beans.

If you use the rear rank for your bio strip, need to put a 4" LEFT offset into your GPS, since the rear rank is to the left of center. At least that is how it works on our Trimble.
