Subject: Rearrange hoses on 1890 to pair rows for cover crop bio-strip?

NW Minnesota
Has anyone rerouted the seed hoses on their JD 1890 drill to plant in paired rows? I would like to plant two rows cereal rye mix and alternate two rows other CC that won't overwinter for making a bio-strip for corn. I did this the last year I owned my JD 750 and liked the results, but we upgraded to an air drill and haven't changed it yet. I'm a little concerned about the length of the hoses having to be much more variable in length and affecting seeding. My drill is on 7.5" spacing and I plant corn on 30" so pairing rows is the only way to make the layout work. Picture below is what I did with the old drill.
