My theory is that with his yields very close to that of irrigated corn that he irrigated by putting water underground in the drain tile. Could have come from a larger patch of ground with a shut off valve in the common drain tile for the two fields.
Then there was an allegation of identical looking wagons with some having liquid filled tires so they weighed more than those with dry tires.
