first of all, you never realize how much overhead you have in dairy until you quit. Your electric bill will go down to 200 bucks or so a month depending. Second, you will have this feeling about 4 pm that you need to be somewhere doing something.

Other than that, i started beef cows. but that isnt much income. I believe i read somewhere you need 5 beef cows to replace the income of one dairy cow. But im not sure thats correct. I never had enough room for my 50 dairy cows. Much less 250 beef cows. I now work at the post office. that job is not for everyone. but they are hiring everywhere. I really never had much of an option to stay in an ag related field around here. Farms are getting bigger, more efficient, less people work in ag everyday. So i found a couple part time jobs for awhile until i found something i could live with.
