Did he trade with a Dealer in KS? I remember the local dealer having a Cummins powered 4994 on tractor house for a short while, IDK if it even hit the lot before it was sold.
If my memory hasn't failed me, there was actually a few built from the factory with the 855 Cummins. Cant remember how many though.
