East Central South Dakota | South Dakota trespass laws are a joke. Number one reason we got out of commercial hunting and turned our habit to corn and soybeans. I was chewing the game wardens and trespassers butt, when the game warden handed the guy the ticket the GAME WARDEN advised him not to pay it. South Dakota will not issue Warrants for game violations, they turn it over to collection agencies and the guy won't have to pay a cent---they both walked away laughing. Had a guy shoot right behind my house and I pressed for criminal trespass. Game warden said GFP will never charge criminal trespass only incidental. I could fill pages with stories. It turned out it was easier to just farm everything and now GFP is in a panic there are no pheasants left. All GFP wants to do is fight with land owners. We don't have a problem with road hunters anymore because we got rid of the pheasants. |
