Just my 2 cents. I like em more raised off the concrete. I never had much luck with em if they were sleeping on concrete. Even with cardboard or bags in between. I don't have radiant floor heat. I like my calf warmer, best money ever spent.
If you feel his legs between the knee and hoof you'll know the outcome coming.
