Fruita CO | In the People's Republic of Boulder there is somebody that contracts with the city to pasture goats on the land that has been set aside for parks & "open space". Chemical or mechanical weed control is not PC, so this guy makes pretty good money with goats. I've seen them on the highway right of ways, how they keep from all getting killed I have no idea...
In this part of the West at least, the sheep industry is way past its heyday. BLM grazing limitations, predators, & the end of the wool subsidy has shrunk it way down...sheep were like a license to print money in the 40's-60's, but most of the big ranches have gone to cows. | |
