Western OK | Got 8 places to feed currently, anywhere from 20-30 cows per place. Unless they can't see the ground like with snow or here most likely ice, they get fed around 50-60 percent of there dry matter needs via hay on average, we don't feed everyday, they got legs they can go find the rest. They also will get 3lbs 20% cubes each 3 times a week when it gets colder.
We've tried unrolling and there appears to be more waste here, plus that's an extra step.
As far a mud, there is some but our ground is so steep it don't take much to stay out of it. | |
