| They call it "mining" but it's really a complicated math problem. A proof or derivative. Every time one is finished, that "coin" becomes the next equation that needs proved. So the "mining" begins to solve that equation. So the computer code that's processing is starting with a simpler algebra problem, but by the time it gets done will be doing calculus.
There are some block chains that are doing genetic work decoding DNA, finding mutations for healthcare, some of the implications are quite incredible.
All that said, I looked into it but didn't see it as a good investment. Never owned one, don't plan on it. | |
