They did not look too spectacular going into winter, and there was no trace of them by the time spring got here. They were planted in mid Sept. after chiseling and disking wheat stubble. The bare ground probably didn't help their winter hardiness, but covering the ground was supposed to be their job anyway.
It's wet but I gotta plant...
