Illinois | That's what I did this year, I have no idea on the value. I planted mine the end of May and they were 10 bpa under the beans planted in early May. I don't think all the yeild loss was from the rye. I put way to much manure out after baling and had to work it deep just to get it Incorporated. I then planted the beans deep and got a hard rain which reduced my bean stands. They were nongmos that made 62. These were my only nongmo beans I didn't spray twice, they didn't get any foliar feed.. They didn't need the second herbicide application and were spotless at harvest. The alleopathy after the rye has some value.
I got 7 rounds of dry hay per acre due to a dry may. I would think 10 would be typical in a normal year
