South Texas | I predict hay will be short here. 1st cut was a bust, second cut was very good and a fair amount went out of area. Third cut hasn’t happened yet for most and what I have done is disappointing considering I’ve had about 30” of rain since second cut. Freeze coming in a couple of days, and little winter forage planted. It won’t be realized by many until late winter. Some are more on top of things, I have all of third cut sold when it hits the ground if I can make it. My cows will eat 2016 hay. | |
