After pondering my math some, what if everyone finishes their cattle at 1200lbs instead of 1300-extra big! I believe fat price would WAY more than make up for the lost profit on the extra pounds forfeited.

Example
- currently 1400lb X $1.10 is $1540/hd
- if everyone went to 1200lb finish weight
$1540 - 200lbX$0.65 cost of gain = $1410
$1410/1200lb finish = $1.1750 break even to make same profit.

I think if we took 200lbs off every animal finish weigh we would see well over a $0.075 price increase. Less work for everyone and same profit. Never going to happen tho. Very few would see it this way rather than as cost of gain being less than paid price so keep on feeding!
