Southern MO | We demoed the carbon fiber and decided to stay with our previous steel boom.
Negatives
1. The carbon fiber boom is too flexible. The ends move up and down too much as the sprayer travels through the field.
2. It takes quite a bit longer to fold and unfold. It is too high as it folds, we think it would get in the power lines.
3. Expensive
4. Duabilty?? Our 120ft steel booms have not had a single crack in 1500+ hrs.
5. The nozzles are not protected as well.
