It isn't about making land (pasture) pay vs. a building! It's if YOU can make it work vs your competition! If the majority can do it cheaper your broke! Doesn't matter if cow/calf, stocker, or finishing. Also, if the east needs barns and feed is cheaper where barns aren't needed........your SOL! I'm on the edge of both.
