Subject: RE: Winter weather in early November

North Central Illinois
Ewes are finishing off regrowth on a hay field. Rotating to corn next year. Was thinking of terminating it yet this fall, but looks like this weather says otherwise if I want to utilize this quality feed. There's at least 2-3 weeks of grazing left here. Then it'll be time to move to stalks with interseeded ryegrass.

My intent is not to open a bale of hay for the ewes until 2019. The good stuff in the stalks should last until January, then I'll probably supplement a little nice hay unless the snow gets really deep. More ear loss than I'd like to have seen due to down corn, so there's quite a bit of good feed in the field.

Mom's cows will probably start getting fed hay a little after Thanksgiving. They aren't quite as tough as the sheep.
