For heat tape to work well, needs to be wrapped or tied to water line I think. That’s what I did in a Mirafount I fought for a couple years with the lightbulb fix.
Should be able to lift complete top off, peel off old heater and replace....probably a better job for a warm day though.

Not an expert on these, but pestered these guys with lots of questions before I got one, so if it could be asked, I probably did. Seemed too good to be for no more power than it uses. Will see if it stays thawed. I can already see it doesn’t stay as clean in the tank as I had been led to believe...that or goat slobbers are just that much more nasty and your run of the mill livestock. |
