Is it industry standard for a large hog facility to record legal easements before spreading/pumping hog manure on surrounding farm land? We adjoin a new facility that would like to spread it on us for free, but they require a long term easement that I'm not comfortable with yet.

What are the pros and cons of dragline spreading?

Why do they need an easement?

without a legal easement, their manure management plan is constantly in flux year to year, with a long term legal easement they have a manure management plan that will last the expected life of the facility, which makes it more valuable if sold and eliminates the problem of disposing of the pig byproduct. I suppose it is an entity that doesn't have a land base to support all the animals they want in that area.
