my guess is that it is prolly a crack and not a hole. I fixed mine early this summer with some epoxy and a piece of spray jug. The tank got a split in it just above where the tap in the bottom of tank is. Like was mentioned earlier they get dried out from the sun. Im sure I will have a new hole this year
