 Little River, TX | The part of the Amish I do understand is they can not be directly connected to nonbelievers.
They can not be connected to a power grid, or a community water system. They all get their water from a well or spring.
After that the logic escapes me. They have a generator to be able to use milking machines, but not for use in the house. All wheels have steel tires, and is horse drawn, while having a cart with a motor to power the hydraulics of the equipment, as well as turning the PTO.
I understand they also buy trotting horses from the racing crowd to pull those picturesque buggies.
