Have LA case tractors that are "semi" used but an L is just taking up space till I consider what to do.
My brother has a running C and a "stationary" 12-20 cross mount with those cute pressed steel front wheels.
Would like to get a 15-27 or 18-32 for memory purposes. My first farm real job was running an LA Case pulling a Case 'P" combine when I was 8 years old( sh - don't tell anyone!) .
Have a picture from either '25 or '26 of my fathers first P case- pulled it first with the 15-27 and then shifted to the 18-32. Next solution was to install a grain tank- it had originally come with a wagon hitch and the combination was too much of a load in our hills, and switch to an L in '28 - better but still not really perfect.
Maybe it was a "legs versus wheels" issue but I feel a bit sorry for the Horses on those old combines in the Palouse.
But, Ed B will agree that the real answer came when they put crawlers on the front of those old monster combines. | |
