| Sure have Rich, my history teacher from 8th grade till I graduated high school. He could talk history in a language I understood. Went from D in 7th grade to straight A's from 8th grade on. Made sure I had at least one class of his every year. He quit teaching to farming full time but lives just 3 miles from me (the way a crow flies, five miles if you drive there). See him occasionally as we are good friends.
My FFA teacher is the other. Taught me a lot in and out of classroom. Taught us how to work and build stuff with iron and take great pride in our work. Wasn't for him I wouldn't be where I am at today. A lot of kids from my time are making a living doing what he taught them. Occasioanlly he calls me when he is looking for advice on a shop project. He is retiring this year, hate to see it but he deserves it!!! | |
