You're whining is getting old. You talk as though you're the only one that's worked on a dirt floor. Guys that don't have land payments are hobby farmers. Guys with town jobs are hobby farmers. Everyone is a hobby farmer except you. You're the one that decided to farm. Maybe you should have got an Engineering degree or learned a trade instead of chasing the easy money. As you said tenant farmers can walk away if things get tough. If a farmer loses a multi generation farm he might be staring suicide in the face. I see you're running a S67 with 533 sep hrs. Stop whining.

I'm having a hard time taking you seriously in this thread.

1. You are assuming I'm complaining. I am not. I enjoy making things work with what I have available

2. You seem to be assuming I'm not a part of a multi-generational operation. Wrong again.

3. You know more about my equipment at the purchase date than I do. I would have had to of looked at my notes to know how many hours I had on it when I bought it. How long did you have to search NAT to find that and why did you? And if you didn't have to search, why do you have that much about my equipment memorized and what else do you know about me and my family?

4. You assume the hours are the same three or four years later

5. You seem to assume that such a machine is me being over equipped for the acres I cover

In short, it seems like your boundless assumptions result in you knowing everything and nothing about me simultaneously. You seem to be sure of things about me that are patently false.

That kind of dynamic cannot lead to a productive conversation. I guess I don't remember any crazy posts from you in the past but I think I'll start paying attention more now to see if this was an anomaly or not.

By the way, the only people I consider to be hobby farmers are those who can do a poor job of farming and can still make a living or a profit doing so as long as they ignore cost of their investment in the paid for land. There aren't many people like that but there are some. I have nothing against them, I'm just sure I don't fit in that category.
