| There is no long term gain in making someone mad and slamming doors. We did not need to do these things to the Chinese or the Canadians or the Mexicans or whoever. We will all regret the administration's stance in the long term. If a better deal can be made--fine. But good deals are when both parties are pleased with an outcome, not when one party coerces the other.
Some will say that we (the US) was being taken advantage of.. Maybe.. Is THIS the way to solve it???
Hard to say.. I do think we had some justification.. not sure if it needed to be this harsh.. but that's pretty much water under the bridge now.
I do not believe we should "weaponize" the production of food.. That being said.. China has been pushing the envelope of being a "good actor." I'm probably not on board with EVERYTHING that Trump says.. nor as HARSH as he says it.. but some things did need to be addressed.
Let's Fix it!!
And both sides go back to mutual trade benefiting everyone.
Wishful thinking?
unfortunately.. probably "yes." |
