North of London | We have been lucky so far.
First field, sent sample off and it came back 11 ppm.
Not sprayed with fungicide and about 10km from home base
Whoa, what to do with that?
Owner wanted to keep it for chicken feed but not recommended more than 5 ppm for them.
Much of field off by time results back so some scrambling to try cleaning and sent sample to feed mill
5.3 from dryer
4.5 after cleaner
So on to other fields and samples were 1.3 to 2 from the different fields
Had offers to buy from mill testing it.
So the last field and it had a test plot of a different variety and as we got closer it did not look pretty.
Sent sample out and it was 6 compared to the other variety we had in other fields.
That got the wheels turning and checked notes and the first field had the test variety on the headlands to start and that is where the bad test came from.
So last I heard what was not kept for feed was delivered and accepted.
Maximum elevator will take is 7.9ppm
Yields look great, possibly my highest ever but do not have all the numbers together yet for final official number. | |
