It’s typically the in laws that start the ruckus. They get their spouse all lathered up over the years, and then the fun begins.

Siblings tend to be competitive, and they carry around 20-50 years of resentment that Joey got a pet dog when he asked, and Mary got nothing even tho She figures she was the better kid, it was always like that the folks loved Joey more.... Joey won’t even know there is an issue.

Mary’s spouse was always kinda a freeloader and no one made him feel welcome to the family for good reason..... so every night, her hubby grumbles about how unfair she has always been treated, and keeps that festering sore going.

When the last parent dies, that is the one chance to ‘get even’ for all those years of suffering and unfairness......
