The LC Futures have moved up and down in a $3.50 range for the 5 weeks, while cash has sat flat at $111 during that same time.

The packer is firmly in control since we are supplying them more cattle than they can kill in a 40 hour week. They are making record profits right now and it would be nice if they would share some more back with us, but the fact is they can pretty much bid what they want because we have no leverage. They can buy all of the cattle they need by simply holding the markets steady.
