And it is an absolute necessity to store square bales under a roof or tarp.    

They do not shed water and turn to crap fast if you don't cover them.   But on the + side, square bales stack in a shed much nicer.




My experience with twine on cornstalk bales is that you do not want the stalks chopped very fine or the edges of the bales will have a tendency to fall apart and there goes the twine.
